Atlantic Health System and Coordinated Health Partner on Phillipsburg Ambulatory Surgery Center

Phillipsburg, NJ (October 22, 2018) – Coordinated Health, a Pennsylvania-based health system, and Atlantic Health System, a leading provider of health care in New Jersey, announced that they have signed a definitive agreement to partner on an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), enhancing access to surgical care for New Jersey residents living near the Pennsylvania border.

The joint venture facility, located at 212 Red School Lane in Lopatcong Township is expected to open in November. Under their agreement, the two organizations look to partner on future collaborative ventures.

“We are pleased to partner with Coordinated Health as we continue to seek new ways to fulfill our mission of delivering high quality, innovative and personalized health care, to build healthier communities in Western New Jersey,” said Amy Perry, CEO Hospital Division, Senior Vice President, Integrated Care Delivery, Atlantic Health System. “This partnership is another example of how we are increasing access for our patients to our system and the health care services they need and deserve in their community.”

Often patients who are diagnosed in the greater Phillipsburg area are sent to Pennsylvania for treatment and/or surgery. The facility will enable patients in the region to receive care, close to home, in an outpatient, ambulatory care setting while providing the same or higher quality of care at lower costs.

“Atlantic Health System is an innovator in healthcare and an ideal partner to collaborate with on new ventures,” said Dr. Emil DiIorio, CH Chief Executive Officer. “This ASC will serve as a model for value-based care, which is a focus that both of our organizations share.”

Coordinated Health will manage the day-to-day operations of the surgical center, which will offer outpatient surgery in Dentistry, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology and more. The ASC will be located next to an existing Coordinated Health Phillipsburg medical office building at 222 Red School Lane, which opened in 2015 and offers a variety of outpatient services.

“Warren County patients can now stay close to home to receive high-quality surgical care,” said Amy Nyberg, CH President and Chief Operating Officer. “Through this joint venture with Atlantic Health System, we are providing Warren County with the higher quality, lower cost care they deserve.”

CH Receives Partnership in Education Award from Palisades School District

On Wednesday, July 11th, Palisades School District (PSD) held an award ceremony at Coordinated Health’s 2300 Highland Avenue location, presenting the “Partnership in Education Award” to CH in recognition of their dedication and commitment to Palisades High School students in their nationally recognized Medical Career Pathways Program.

In light of a significant need for more medical professionals in the Kintnersville, Pennsylvania area in recent years, CH and PSD collaborated to provide local high school students with the opportunity to explore areas of study and career options within health care. Coordinated Health’s Manager of Education, Debra Mannicci, coordinates the pathways program at CH which includes hospital and clinic tours, hands-on experiences in various departments as well as information on careers and required schooling.

The program, headed by PSD teachers Susan Mette and Mark Chilton, was recognized by Districts of Distinction for it’s profound impact on participating students over the past two school years. According to District of Distinction, 88% of graduates who had gone through the pathway program were either working in the medical field or studying a medical field in higher education.

The award, presented by Palisades High School principal Rich Heffernan and district superintendent Bridget O’Connell, recognizes CH’s commitment to providing care far beyond their clinic walls, as well as acknowledges PSD’s dedication to the future of their students.
