Bethlehem Township, PA (November 6, 2018) – Coordinated Health announced today the opening of the Lehigh Valley’s first walk-in orthopedic Injury Center at its Bethlehem Township campus at 3100 Emrick Blvd. The center will be open six days a week, including evenings and Saturdays.
The Injury Center will serve as an alternative to traditional emergency rooms and urgent care facilities, providing immediate access to specialized orthopedic care for common injuries like fractures, strains, sprains, back and muscle pains. The orthopedic physicians and advanced practice providers managing the center are qualified to treat patients age 2 and up for injuries resulting from childhood accidents, school sports or community athletic events, and overuse injuries or falls common among active adults and seniors.
“The Injury Center is an important new resource in Bethlehem Township and the surrounding region,” said Dr. Robert Friedman, Medical Director for Sports Medicine. “This community is filled with residents who lead active lifestyles, and our award-winning orthopedic team will be here to support their injury prevention and treatment needs.”
Coordinated Health has also established a 24/7 Injury Hotline so that patients can call (610) 861-8111 either after hours or on Sunday to speak immediately with a patient care representative and schedule a next-day appointment.
“Our decision to create an Injury Center in the Lehigh Valley is all about improving patient access to the region’s best injury care specialists,” said Amy Nyberg, President and Chief Operating Officer. “Our physicians are fellowship-trained in orthopedics and sports medicine, and we are able to provide orthopedic care that is better and faster than visiting an emergency room.”
