It’s no surprise that lip injections were the top cosmetic procedure in 2017. While the procedure is still increasing in popularity, the ASAPS (American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) has predictions that other procedures may be on the rise this year.

Men

Despite public perception that plastic surgery is predominantly focused on women, a growing number of patients are male. Although men only represent 13% of patients who receive plastic surgery, invasive and noninvasive procedures are becoming increasingly popular among men. Some popular invasive procedures include nose reshaping, eyelid surgery, breast reduction, liposuction, and facelifts. Noninvasive treatments such as Botox and soft tissue fillers have also increased in numbers.

Upper and Lower Body Lifts

Lower body procedures such as abdominal liposuction and buttock lifts are growing in numbers. Upper body procedures such as arm lifts and breast lifts have also become more popular in recent years. These procedures can completely change a person’s confidence level and are expected to grow in popularity in the years ahead.

Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation represented nearly 16% of all surgical procedures in 2016 so it’s no surprise that the procedure continues to grow in popularity every year. One difference in recent years is that silicone implants have increased by 10% in comparison to saline which has reduced by -4.5%.
