Not getting a good nights sleep can leave you feeling groggy and tired the next day, but it could also have lasting affects to your overall health. Between 50 and 70 million Americans are affected by a chronic sleep disorder that can significantly impact their overall health and quality of life. Left untreated, sleep disorders can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, depression, diabetes and more.

The most effective way to diagnose a sleep disorder is through a sleep study, however, many people don’t know the difference between normal sleepiness and when it’s time to seek help. According to Coordinated Health Sleep Disorder Center Coordinator Amy Yasso, there are some signs you may be a good candidate for a sleep study.

The top signs you may need a sleep study include:

  1. Excessive daytime sleepiness
  2. Uncontrollable blood pressure
  3. Witnessed apneas or gasping during sleep
  4. Memory Loss/Brain Fog
  5. Increased fat storage

If you have any of the symptoms above, schedule your sleep study today by calling 610-861-8080. You can learn more about sleep studies at Coordinated Health and sleep disorders by visiting coordinatedhealth.com/services/sleep-disorder-center/.
