The scholarship program, the region’s largest, will award $45,000 to top high school athletes who exhibit leadership both on and off the field during the school year.
Entering its fourth year, AOTW has gained immense popularity and status among the region’s high school and college sports community, with more than 50,000 votes cast by sports fans in just the last year.
Voting for the Athlete of the Week is conducted via online platform at mcall.com/athleteoftheweek, with athletic seasons divided into Fall, Winter and Spring. Each Monday, three finalists will be announced by the editorial team at The Morning Call, and the public will have the opportunity to vote. Every Friday, a winner is announced in The Morning Call, online and on WFMZ’s The Big Ticket. All 40 schools within The Morning Call coverage area are eligible for all of the awards in the AOTW program.
