Jeffrey Costanzo, MD
Jeffrey Costanzo, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist at Coordinated Health, part of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Originally from the Scranton area, Dr. Costanzo graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in business before deciding that he wanted to practice medicine. He attended medical school at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan. He completed his training with a fellowship in gastroenterology at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ.
Dr. Costanzo realized early on in his medical schooling that he wanted to focus on gastroenterology. “GI is a hands-on specialty that also allows the opportunity to establish a relationship with patients over the long term,” he says. He also adds that it is a good specialty for focusing on preventive health, one of his strong interests. “GI health is closely linked to diet, nutrition, and overall wellness. By adjusting these things, we can address many GI issues without medications.”
Outside of work, Dr. Costanzo is a self-described “fitness nut” who participates in CrossFit and Olympic weight lifting. He also enjoys cooking and traveling.
