He received his premedical undergraduate education at Drexel University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After a five year orthopaedic residency at Geisinger-Danville, he completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Rich devotes his practice to management of disorders of the hand and upper extremity. Included in this specialty are skin, bone, muscle, tendon, joint, nerve and vascular conditions of the upper extremity which result in an alternation of hand function. He provides total care of hand or upper extremity problems whether acute, resulting from sudden onset or injury, or involving reconstruction of deformities resulting from arthritic conditions or congenital conditions. Some of the more common complaints he treats include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and arthritis.
Dr. Rich is on the staff of Community Medical Center, Moses Taylor Hospital and the Northeast Surgery Center. He maintains his office here in Dickson City.
Dr. Rich is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications for Surgery of the Hand.
